Too cute not to share! And than a post from me..

HAD TO FORWARD; THINGS TO THINK ABOUT IS REALLY FUNNY

To those of us who have children in our lives,
whether they are our own,
grandchildren,
nieces,
nephews,
or students...
here is something to make you chuckle.

Whenever your children are out of control,
you can take comfort from the thought that
even God had trouble with His children. (and we are still not listening to Him)

After creating heaven and earth,
God created Adam and Eve.

And the first thing he said was
"DON'T! "

"Don't what? "
Adam replied.
"Don't eat the forbidden fruit."
God said.

"Forbidden fruit?
We have forbidden fruit?
Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit! "

"No Way! "

"Yes way! "

"Do NOT eat the fruit! ! "
said God.

"Why ? "

"Because I am your Father and I said so! "

God replied,
wondering why He hadn't stopped
creation after making the elephants.
A few minutes later,
God saw His children having an apple break
and He was ticked!

"Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit? "
God asked.

"Uh huh,"
Adam replied.

"Then why did you? "
said the Father.

"I don't know,"
said Eve.

"She started it! "
Adam said.

"Did not! "

"Did too! "

"DID NOT! "
Having had it with the two of them,
God's punishment was that Adam and Eve
should have children of their own.

Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY!

If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give
children wisdom and they haven't taken it,
don't be hard on yourself.

If God had trouble raising children,
what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for
you?

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT !

1. You spend the first two years of their life
teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend
the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.

2. Grandchildren are God's reward
for not killing your own children.

3. Mothers of teens now know why
some animals eat their young.

4. Children seldom misquote you.

In fact,
they usually repeat word for word
what you shouldn't have said.

5. The main purpose of holding children's parties
is to remind yourself that there are children
more awful than your own.

6. We childproofed our homes,
but they are still getting in.

ADVICE FOR THE DAY:

Be nice to your kids.
They will choose your
nursing home one day.

AND FIN ALLY:

IF YOU ! HAVE A LOT OF TENSION
AND YOU GET A HEADACHE,
DO WHAT IT SAY! S
ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:

"TAKE TWO ASPIRIN"
AND "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN"!!!!!

Quick,
send this on to ten people
within the next five minutes.

Nothing will happen if you don't,
but if you do,
ten people will be laughing

We had been hoping to be able to go to Calgary for the holidays, but, well I'm sick again. My lovely wound reopened this last Saturday, after 3 weeks of being closed! Plus adding to the, I went to see this (pray so!) 'crazy' doctor on Monday, who said he thought i should quickly go back to the hospital, and have a 6 inch diameter cut out of my ass!!! Needless to say, to those who know me to be very passionate, or perhaps crazy, about everything, I was hysterical! Not at all cool, or even slightly ok news!!! Not funny at all. Please pray, please just bag God with all your hear for me, that i will not have to return to surgery! That hope, above hope, that this is only a slight set back, and i will yet again, heal. Please pray for me. I'm missing all my friends plenty right now! ;) Know y'are loved! Yes I know...how can i be saying "yare" now?? Shame, shame! Don't know where or how i picked that one up...
Well I love you all..trying not to be scared here..
love Sophia!

Carpe diem, Jacinda !!

You are a beautiful writer, and I believe you have a wise heart from God, I thankful to have you as my friend!
Yet again..I'm gonna paste this my way, I hope it encourages some great thought...

Seize the Day

I was recently babysitting three adorable neighbor kids and had an interesting little chat with their mom about how busy our lives are, especially in this Christmas season. She told me that life is like the end of a toilet paper roll-the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes. She told me that the older you get the busier you are and the faster time flies.

I’m just getting used to writing ‘2006’ on my assignments! It’s hard to believe another year is almost over. My big surprise birthday party seems like a week ago (all you girls will be justly rewarded, btw :), Tamarack like days ago, the beginning of school like yesterday, Philadelphia like last night’s dream. But the fact is, it’s December 12. Half a month until 2007. One more semester of high-school.

I’ve recently flipped through my daily planner scribbled over in red, blue, and black ink. Occasional yellow highlights, happy faces, or stickers mark memorable occasions. I have my days scheduled out from 6:30 am-10pm. But among all the comings and goings, how much of it really mattered? In my hectic schedule, do I do what God wants me to do? Or do I make my plans and then see if He fits in somewhere?

Psalm 90:12 says “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” This year is almost over. Have I numbered my days well? Whether or not I did, I can’t go back. I can’t undo anything. But I can see in twelve pages how I’ve spent my time. And I can learn from what I see.

Bright, new, fresh, clean calendars are beginning to make their way into our home. The little square boxes are empty. No scribbles. No arrows. No smiley faces. No trials have marred them. No joys have graced them. No funerals. No birthday parties. No mistakes. No successes. Before us is the year 2007. We have 365 days to squander or to live wisely. The choice is ours.

How does one ‘number [their] days’ wisely? I believe it first begins by letting God write His plans on our hearts. By handing over our agenda. By earnestly seeking His will for our lives and trusting Him for the details. By opening His Word and listening to Him speak through the pages. By pouring out our hearts in prayer. By lifting up our hearts in worship and gratitude. By reviewing 2006 prayerfully and honestly. By encountering God before encountering the day. By scheduling time to spend in Bible study and prayer. By asking God to help us see His opportunities every day.

Those now empty little square boxes will soon be filled with daily tasks of seeming insignificance. A year from now they’ll be forgotten. But when we hand our day over to God and allow Him to work in us however He chooses, even the mundane can become divine.

Standing at the check-out line can be an opportunity to share the Gospel. Turning out the lights at night and reflecting on my day gives me several minutes to share the goodness of God with my sister. The drive to the soccer field gives our whole family twenty minutes to break out in song (try this! It’s something my family does often on road trips….very enjoyable and looked forward too-especially when we’re joined by my brother’s rumbling bass and Dad’s sweetly melodic tenor :)

What are trips to the doctor, dentist, or music teacher for me? Moments of anxiety or peace? How about meal preparation? Is that a time of frenzy where everyone knows to stay out of the kitchen? Or am I excited about being able to serve my family? The amount of time I spend online-am I sending messages that stimulate my contacts to reflect on our awesome God? Or am I taking away the time they could be spending with God and making them use it foolishly?

Numbering our days isn’t accidental. It begins with a choice. Make it the first thing you write on your calendar: seek God first, ‘that we may gain a heart of wisdom.’

what we all have heard, personally, being 4 agin would be a treat as of now.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and
close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple
things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?
Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in
the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think
through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals
attend.... except one. Which animal does not attend?

Corr ect Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator.
You just put him in there. This tests your memory.

Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly,
you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and
you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not
been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting.
This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the
professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many
preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says
this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have
the brains of a four-year-old.

Who could say it as, 'Thea?

Wisdom

is wisdom the real thing?

Just because you are older does not make you wiser, you may have more of life's experiences under you widening belt, but you may possess no wisdom.

a man may go through life and learn many things and meet many people he may suffer many hardships , but whether or not he learns wisdom from them is my point.

the child in his trust in Christ holds more wisdom than the oldest man with the world of knowledge (once again) under his belt, but with no faith in Christ.

through Christ we ( young and old) gain wisdom, i will say no names but i know elder people who made choice which caused pain to more people than was necessary, the reason for their choice was so petty even a child ( at five years old!) realized how foolish it was.

this little memo thingy may hold no wisdom of its own, and i apologize for what i say and i know i sound all the more prideful and foolish in saying it, But some times ( even though i know i am not a SMART as them) I feel i have more wisdom that those people who live their lives around me and govern mine.

Christ is my beacon, not the men of this world
Christ is my wisdom, the world my foolishness
Christ is my ruler, but i must for a time fallow the petty rules of this world and its leaders.

Merry Thanksgiving, my 2nd chance for thankfulness.

Having spent my Canadian Thanksgiving in a hospital bed, I’m only too thankful that the American’s have theirs today, knowing that people I love are celebrating on this day, just as I am rejoicing in God, in my newly discovered health. A step closer to feeling healthy everyday now, everyday makes me more aware of how undoubtedly God is caring for me, how steadily His hand holds me. Molds me, shapes in me in hardship, and nevertheless, I am always held by Him. Even though God has chosen to bless me now, with a earthly father symbol, I have the greatest fatherly protection felt by God. With no disrespect to my step-dad intended at all! All I mean to express is; though the passages God has allowed life to take me, have made me know Him so amazingly as my Father. Everyday He is the one who comes to make me whole. I could never exist without Him, I am His. As a young child, I wondered to myself, if for some reason Canada would become as the world in the time of Jesus (Yeah…imagine that, ‘ey?) would I follow Him if it cost me my life? Now I truly know what God meant in telling us “He who seeks to save his life, shall lose it” Luke 9:24. How would I have any idea of who I am, without Him? Talk about a never ending search! I am who I am, because He tells me who I am in Him. Created by God, (Gen’ 1) loved by God, (John 3:16) knowing there is a time for all things, (Ecc’ 3) created with a purpose, (Matt’ 28:18-20). Without Him, I know I would seek out, and try anything, in a hope for meaning. Only He, and the constant reminder of who I am, who I was created to be, through all His wonderful scriptures, words inspired of God, allow me to exists, knowing I am meant to. I am not worthless, I am not without purpose, my body is not a accidental combination of molecules. I am created, intended, purposefully, and thoughtfully created. Before the creation of the world, my name was written by God, in the book of life. All I have done, all I will do, is there in His book, wow, guess what? We are not a accident. He meant to create us. He made us, our life has a point, what is life all about? To “glorify God, and enjoy Him forever”, the simplistic bliss of absolutes. I’m clinging.

I hope you take this day to truly be thankful, really thankful,
whatever country you may be blessed to enjoy it in.

On 2nd thought, I'de rather qoute Alexine V.!

All about Islam

History and Today
Islam was establishing in the 7th century by a man in his forties named Muhammad. He claimed that God was giving him messages. Later on he wrote these massages from “God” in an Islam book- the Koran. God was replaced with a chief god named Allah. The Muhammad started preaching against greed, economic depression and idolatry. He wanted every special interest group to come together and worship Allah. His religion was rejected until the year 630 when he gained control of a religious center- Mecca. After dying 2 years later his religion was spread through Arab and much further. Islam moved to Spain and west of India by 750 AD. It spread even further to Africa, Asia and The Philippians in later centuries. Today it is one of the largest religions in the world.

Islam beliefs
Muslims read their book called the Koran. It is messages that Muhammad claimed to receive form god. They believe that the only way to reach the perfect place is to do good deeds. There are 6 articles of faith that Muslims believe.
The first one is that there is NO god other than Allah. Allah is the only god. They are not allowed to worship any other form of idol.
Another one is they believe in angles and Jinn. Jinn are spirits. These spirits are capable of good and bad actions. They also possess humans. Jinn are next to god and angels are after jinn. Muslims believe that there are two angels with them anywhere.
There are 104 holy books referred in the Koran.
Fourth, Muslims believe In God’s prophets. they believe there were several thousand. Some named are, Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. All Muslims agree that Muhammad was God’s final prophet. That he was the “seal” prophet, and that some Muslims came close to worshiping, even though Muhammad said he was sinner.
The fifth is Muslims believe that everything that happens is gods will. Some Muslims altered this belief somewhat but it comes down to them believing to His will is anything that happens.
The sixth and last is that Muslims believe in the end God will come and judge. He will judge them by their works. If their good deeds are more then the bad deeds they will go to a better perfect place. If their good deeds are fewer then their bad deeds they will go to eternal damnation.
There are also five pillars of Islam. These are the deed they must do in order to reach heaven. They believe and speak the creed “ there is not god but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet.” This is said quite a lot among the Muslims.
Muhammad was strongly concerned for the needy people (he was an orphan) so he established the pillar of giving 2.5% to the less fortunate or to spread the Muslims faith.
Prayers are practice quite frequently. Different divisions have different “requirements’. Some say specific prayers five times a day. Others only pray three times a day. Men who follow the Islam faith have special meetings on Friday’s, at noon, for prayer and a sermon.
Fasting is another Pillar Muslims do. They fast in the month of Ramadan, which is the ninth month on the Muslim calendar. Daylight hour Muslims will not eat so that they will learn self–discipline, to learn to lean on Allah, and know how the homeless, who cannot always eat, feel.
AT least once in their life, a Muslim should take a journey to Mecca.
One pillar is often added. This pillar is that if a Muslim dies fighting a war, they will automatically go to heaven.

My Christian view
I couldn’t add everything I wanted to in this essay. Islam to me is a twisted faith copied by Christianity. They believe there is no savior. If there is no savior then what is our point here on earth? We are just people wandering aimlessly around this earth with no help? Muslims believe that they don’t really need help. They would have to if they don’t believe in Jesus Christ as their savior. They believe that he was JUST a prophet. If only they knew or believed just what Christ did for them and us! How could you think Jesus was a prophet when he died for us? I don’t believe that a prophet would die to clean our slate.
Another issue I have with Islam is that they believe they will go to heaven if their good deeds are greater then their bad ones. We are saved because of the saving grace! NOT because we are “good” people. We are all sinners and the only way we can get to heaven is to believe that God sent his son to die so we could live life guilt free. Christ is our savior and with out him we couldn’t go to heaven, no matter how many Good deeds we do!
Women are not taken seriously when it comes to Islam. This quote from the Koran is seriously twisted!
“ Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spread their wealth to maintain them. Good Women are obedient. Q 4:34
Good women are obedient? I believe Men were made with a stronger build to do things women can’t. They have their strength, but so do women. Women have a strength men don’t have. Men are not superior to us! We are equal!
Over all I don’t believe any Islam beliefs and I think Islam is wrong. They don’t believe in Christ and do not read God’s word. If God wanted Bibles for every religion, he would have made it that. We do not have rights to write a new “bible” of messages from God. God sent his messages already and he didn’t have to do it again. Their beliefs a twisted and women pay the price. I don’t believe God is pleased with it either.

Tell me a story

Interesting how that can mean different things in the world of lingo.
To one it's secret for a sweet story, to Jessica, she actually told me a story "once upon a time..." I generally mean, tell me of your day. When I said to friends: "sing me song of sinuses" I didn't actually want a melody, just help me whine. I was tired of reading my last post, so I mumbled some, can't expect too much more of me, the fragility of the womans being, pilonidal abscess, and a sinus cold. Weird aren't I? I tell myself that this is not complaining, I like talking about it though, so I gather that's what it is.
Mint tea is a wonderful remedy for a sore mind...

Love...
SOPHIA!
